We call the Spring Festival Chunjie in Chinese. It is the biggest traditional Chinese Festival, even the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. (Our office will be closed from 13rd February-2018, until 1st March-2018 all thing will be normal.)

All people living away from home go back, becoming the busiest time for transportation systems of about half a month from the Spring Festival. Airports, railway stations and long-distance bus stations are crowded with home returnees, that is called Spring Festival Travel Rush.

We usually have "union dinner" on New Year's Eve, the meal is more luxurious than usual. Dishes such as chicken, fish and bean curd cannot be excluded, for in Chinese, their pronunciations, respectively "ji", "yu" and "doufu," mean auspiciousness, abundance and richness. After the dinner, we will sit together, chatting, watching TV, and we also have the celebration with feasts and firecrackers at home with family members and very close friends. The first day of the Spring Festival we will make New Year calls on family relatives, we will bring Fruits, medical tonics are often for parents and old relatives, and cash enclosed in a red envelop for the kids(This is called yasuiqian, it symbolizes "good luck".). This festival will lasting first fifteen days of January, according to the Lunar Calendar.
